Is there anything that we can do with this? If he hasn't already been silenced, could we include him in a rally somewhere, get him on a radio interview--anything? This is a seriously big break!
Certainly we can bring him to our conference calls--does anybody have contact information for him? He can ask all the questions he wants--I don't think that he will find Dr. Keyes to be arrogant and condescending.
Does Joe (Sam?) even know that Dr. Keyes is running?

Los Angeles Times front-page center photo of 'Joe the Plumber' is today's feature story.
Friday, October 17, 2008's edition of the Southland's preeminent newspaper pictures a 5" x 8" photo of 'Joe the Plumber' walking to his Dodge SUV with newscameras following close in toe.
The photo, which took center stage, replacing the day's headline, is captioned, "MAN OF THE MOMENT ... Joe Wurzelbacher ... in Holland, Ohio."
Move over, Britney, the feature article, is supplemented by a half-page article emphasizing 'Joe's' anonymity is "down the drain," and highlighting the demands of his new found notoriety. The Los Angeles paper writes ...
"Also, now that he's famous, he's busy. When the McCain campaign invited Wurzelbacher to attend a rally Sunday in Toledo with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, he told them that he probably couldn't make it. He'd made plans to be in New York ... doing TV interviews."
Joe on the issues:
IRAQ - "We liberated another country ... These guys have freedom."
POLITICIANS - "The politicians are the nobles. We are the serfs, OK? ... I mean, we are the peasants as far as they're concerned. You know, they take, and they give us back a little bit."
AMERICA - "I'm tired of people downing America, saying that we're this bad country ... We are the greatest country in the world. Stop apologizing for us. I mean, really ... "
HIS FAME - "I'm a flash in the pan ... a novelty ... It's going to be fun for a couple days, and then it's going to go away."

Threatening seniors with loss of Social Security and Medicare benefits is something liberals often bring up as election day draws near, according to recent news reports.
Alan Keyes fully supports keeping all promises made to those receiving Social Security benefits. Any reform of the system for younger workers will not abrogate promises made to senior citizens.

'Joe the Plumber' said he did not ask a great question.
It was a good question. It was Obama's response that made the interchange significant.
In other interviews, after meeting with the 2008 Democratic nominee, 'Joe the Plumber' said it was Barack Obama's, "We want to spread the wealth around" comment that brought his interchange with the presidential nominee to national prominence.

Last evening I was talking with Tom Hoefling, and I pointed out to him that what Joe the Plumber said about Dr. Keyes was not all that negative. Dr. Keyes may sound arrogant and condescending when he is talking to other politicians, but he is quite warm and friendly when he speaks to the rest of us. I have often noticed that he uses the big words and the deep concepts with the general public. That is because he knows that we are not stupid, and that he does not need to talk down to us,
We would like to see if we (Dr. Keyes supporters) could strike up a relationship with Joe (Sam) the Plumber--invite him to the Conference Calls or to an interview, or whatever. If anyone has contact info for him, or any other info or ideas, please contribute to this post. Thanks.

Arrogant? Condescending?
Arrogant - offensively exaggerating one's own importance. Condescending - to assume an air of superiority.
Hasn't Alan been encouraging, emboldening, asking and even begging others to become leaders? Hasn't he brought himself low by defending those weaker than himself and put himself before the public to be mocked to be a voice for his beloved Americans? Is it arrogant to speak the truth clearly and boldly?
Just wanted to set the record straight here. I don't think "Joe" used the correct words to describe his critcism of Dr. Keyes.
Let's call Alan "scrappy" and "able to defend himself". To paraphrase Reepicheep the mouse from Lewis' Narnia, "because of those who would weigh worth by size, I must defend my honor". Reepicheep also emboldened his fellow Narnians.
It would be good though to have "Joe" on the call. He's got guts to do what he did. I admire that.

"Just wanted to set the record straight here. I don't think 'Joe' used the correct words to describe his critcism of Dr. Keyes."
--
Actually, I don't think that Joe was meaning to describing his own criticism.
Instead, I believe that he is simply giving an example of some of the unwarranted criticism that folks in the media tend to put forward, not just about Alan Keyes, but about virtually any conservative who is both intelligent and articulate. (I call this the, "I don't need to be lectured, just give me my bowl of soup and let me go back to being irresponsible" argument.)
The impression I get from this footage is that he likes Alan Keyes just as much as we do, and that he prefers him to both major party candidates.
Just my 2 cents.
Joe

Oct 23, Local Radio talk radio host here in Northeastern, PA was asked this morning on the Sue-Henry Show who they thought Joe the Plumber references best worked for ... Host responds: they thought McCain and said they sensed the callers skepticism ...
Next Joe the Plumber quotes were cited by the caller from the above video
"All we get to pick from is only two candidates.
There is no choice there.
There is a gentleman named Alan Keyes.
The Guy is incredibly smart ...."
"I have no doubt he'd probably fix this country in two years."
"We need somebody like that."
The Host also asked what was the source: the caller said the
easiest way to find it was to goto AIPNEWS.com and
then search for "joe the plumber"
It was then reiterated
America's Independent Party NEWS.com
AIPNEWS.com
We need more of this happening across America NOW.
Take immediate action, spread the news
And inform others to Vote and write in Alan Keyes for President.

Joe Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. "Joe the Plumber," said Friday he may consider running for Congress in 2010, challenging longtime Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D) in the Toledo-area district.
"I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight," Wurzelbacher said during an appearance on the Laura Ingraham show Friday, "but, you know, I'd be up for it."
"There is a movement afoot to draft you to run for Congress," Ingraham said. "Joe, let me tell you something: you decide to run for Congress, and I'll help you with your PR, I'll help you do your ads, I mean, I'll volunteer to help you."
Ingraham's producer, Brian Feldman, said that during the break after the segment, Wurzelbacher told Ingraham that his statements today represent the first time he has acknowledged considering a bid for Congress in public.
Wurzelbacher said he did agree with Kaptur's vote against the bailout, and touted his support for a flat tax on income.
A Springfield, Ohio native, Wurzelbacher became a target of fame and scrutiny after Republican candidate John Mccain referenced the plumber during his third presidential debate against Barack Obama. Wurzelbacher confronted Obama during a campaign spot in northwest Ohio preceding the debate to ask Obama about his tax plan.
Supporters launched a website [See above post] following Wurzelbacher's rise to prominence encouraging him to run for the seat.
That's not my take on it. They came to that conclusion based on an online live chat that took place today with Joe. Here's what Joe said, in his own words:
Joe, whom are you voting for? by Washington, DC Answer: A REAL AMERICAN ... I want a president who believes in democracy and the American People and the American Dream. I want a president who believes in smaller government and the ideals of our forefathers--and doesn't believe those principles are outdated. I want a president who is not going to lead us into socialism and despair. I want a president that can stand amongst some of the great leaders of our past. by Joe_Wurzelbacher
Well, that's certainly not John McCain on any of those points, now is it? In fact, Joe sounds more like a Keyes supporter:
You have been unfairly probed and dragged through the mud by the liberal press. Do you think others look at your experience of simply asking a candidate a question and be scared off from speaking one's mind? Are private citizens now fair game to the press if they ask a challenging question and the media doesn't like it? by Valencia, Pennsylvania Answer: If we are too afraid to question our elected officials, the America I grew up in and love is gone. Maybe if enough of us are willing to question our government and those in other places of power, perhaps we can take back our country. by Joe_Wurzelbacher
Why do you think the national media so quickly scrutinized and questioned your beliefs, private life and past, but didn't show nearly as much curiosity about the personal associations and public record of the Democratic nominee for president? by Gaithersburg, Md. Answer: Because the media has an agenda, pure and simple. by Joe_Wurzelbacher
Do you like the fair tax? if so would you conceder being a voice for the millions who support it? by spartanburg SC Answer: 100% without a doubt I like the fair tax. It would have to be structured properly of course. But I like the principles of it, and especially the idea of doing away with the IRS. That being said, I'm a big proponent of the flat tax, which I believe would have the same effect and is just as fair. We all have to pay taxes for the defense of our country and certain basic government protections for the people. I would be interested in supporting and presenting either tax reforms to Middle America. by Joe_Wurzelbacher

message that I have placed on Twitter.com (you can do it too, for free, and help to magnify it!):
What entities actively participated in the hijacking of the Alan Keyes 2008 Presidential Campaign in 2007?
The Republican Party
The Mainstream Media (including Fox News)
Christian Groups
Conservative Groups
Pro-Life Groups
(Note: it was the leadership of these entities that participated in the hijacking. The rank and file membership of these groups never knew about it. However, they believe their leaders when they are told to vote for McCain. People who belong to these groups are always asking me--where is Dr. Keyes?)
(Get it folks--we're not talking about the Hillary people, the Obama people, the pro-choice people, or the pro-abortion people; we're not even talking about Planned Parenthood. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT OUR OWN PEOPLE!
Everybody, GET a clue! Put this info squarely into your minds! There is still plenty of time--WE CAN RESCUE ALAN KEYES!
Let's Do It!

I believe a better word is "ostrasized".
os·tra·cize - Greek ostrakizein to banish by voting with potsherds, from ostrakon shell, potsherd; to banish somebody by a popular vote because that person is regarded as dangerous to society, as was the practice in ancient Greece; in ancient Athens, when it was proposed that somebody should be sent into exile because of becoming a danger to the state, a vote was taken on the matter. The method of voting was to inscribe the name of the prospective exile on a piece of broken pottery (ostrakon). If enough votes were cast against him, he was sent away for ten years.
to exile, banish or exclude from a particular group, community or society by common consent, either formally or informally, by not communicating with or even noticing them; to exclude from normal social or professional activities, shun; to put in public disfavor.
Then fixing His eyes on His disciples, He said: ... "Blessed are you when people hate you, drive you out, abuse you, denounce your name as criminal, on account of the Son of man. Rejoice when that day comes and dance for joy, look! -- your reward will be great in heaven. This was the way their ancestors treated the prophets." Luke 6:22-23

Okay, I found it. Almost all the articles out there claim that Joe endorsed McCain, but it was very difficult to find out if it is a fact. It is true, according to the Toledo Blade:
'Joe' publicly backs GOP ticket Plumber draws support, ire at appearances for McCain By Steve Eder and Jim Provance, Blade Staff Writers
CINCINNATI - For two weeks, Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher has been the centerpiece of John McCain's campaign for president.
But until yesterday, Mr. McCain, the GOP nominee for president, didn't have the official endorsement of the northwest Ohioan thrust into the spotlight after his impromptu interrogation of Barack Obama and his tax policies - causing the Democratic nominee to utter the phrase: "spread the wealth."
Mr. Wurzelbacher, 34, of Springfield Township zig-zagged central and southern Ohio yesterday, campaigning for Mr. McCain, whom Mr. Wurzelbacher repeatedly called "a real American." He said he withheld his blessing of Mr. McCain and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin until yesterday because of the personal nature of his decision, but he believed it was his "civic duty" to make his intentions known.
"I am an informed person. I did my homework. I know what I believe in," Mr. Wurzelbacher said after speaking to volunteers at the Hamilton County campaign office in Cincinnati last night. "I align myself with Senator McCain and Governor Palin. I believe they are more for middle-class America than what the other side would be."
Mr. Wurzelbacher - who spent the day traveling by bus with Rob Portman, a former GOP congressman and former U.S. trade representative, and a number of small business owners - visited The Flag Lady's Flag Store in Columbus, the Dublin Pub in downtown Dayton, S&S Pools in Middletown, Hermann's Florist in Milford, and GOP offices in Cincinnati. Throughout the day, he met with crowds ranging from 30 to 150 people.
There you have it. Yet another compromiser joins the disapointment ranks.
Three cheers for you steadfast American patriots who continue to hold to the truth. Let's pick up the dropped flag and march on!!
