Lawmakers are calling on Americans to storm the Capitol on Thursday in an "Emergency House Call on Congress" to stop the House from passing the Democrats' health-care bill this week.
A group of legislators led by Reps. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., and Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., will be holding an emergency town-hall meeting outside the Capitol at 12 p.m. to protest the health-care bill set to hit the House floor. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has indicated that a vote on the bill could take place as soon as Thursday.
Bachmann told WND she is urging citizens to come to Washington and "pay an emergency House call to Congress."
"This is the most effective way we have to kill socialized medicine and to do it this week," she said. "Nothing is more effective at reaching a congressman than having a citizen come to Washington, D.C. – not asking for a handout, not asking for tax money, not asking to take some liberty away from somebody else, but just asking for freedom."
I plan to be there if it will help at all. I will cover as a Chrisitan, Patriot, and for AIPNEWS.
We hope to have some pictures and or interviews from regular citizens to any congress person we can get to speak.
I will be traveling with Mike Brady and possibly Charles Lewis here in SC. TEA Party goers from across the state of SC plan to descend on the Capital building first thing Thursday morning. We leave Wednesday night.

Isn't this rather conveniently short notice for a D.C. Repub to call for such a show of the People's will, with little
expectation of any significant showing that would actually impact the elites' hold on power?
If she had been calling for and organizing this all along, since 9/12, taking all the flak along the way that Alan Keyes
gets hit with, she might impress me.
I'm not saying that the People who can should not turn out.
But I smell Rino on the breeze. I hear her plea in the midnight hour of election night, 2010 . . . "I tried . . . I gave my
best for my country. . . etc. . ."

I cannot think of many who are not doing the "plea deal".
Five reasons to go if able:
1.) Citizen involvment never hurts, especially when it is civil and holding the line of truth.
2.) Having a large group of Christians praying at home while others walk the halls of our great country's Congress building, praying the demons of hell out from there and or that the spiritual warfare being done in high places will make Satan, and his armies tremble because they know God and His armies are there. Therefore they must flee or bow in the name of JESUS.
3.) Actually trying to put our eye on all congress who will be defeated in 2010.
4.) If the opportunity arises when meeting those we know are taking our country over a clift, letting them know honestly and sincerely they are fired as of 11/2010.
5.) Getting any interview for AIP NEWS to put back on line. We may get some people on the street interviews. If we do get any congress person to do an interview they will get the hard ball questions so their people at home can discern for themselves who is covering up or not.

The article mentioned Steve King is encouraging citizens to come to Washington, D.C., too. My impression is that Steve King is reputable, based upon what has been said by Tom.
Whether Bachmann is playing politics or sincere, I do not know.
What I do know is that the American people must defeat attempts to nationalize our healthcare system. Passing an incomprehensible health care reform bill allows Obama's Czars to adminster 1/6th of the U.S. economy as they see fit. In my opinion, that's a recipe not only for economic disaster ... but for dictatorship, as well.
Defeat healthcare reform. Write your representatives, today!

Judge Andrew Napolitano filled in today for Glenn Beck. Beck's out with appendicitis. Near the end of the show the judge interviewed Michele Bachmann about the rally at the Capital tomorrow. The judge warned Bachmann that a friend of his in Security informed him Pelosi will make access to the Capital very restrictive in order to make entering the building as difficult as possible for those attending.

I think Cadell is correct that there's a divide between elected officials and constituents ... but there's also a liberty vs. totalitarian (right vs. left) divide.
Alan Keyes says that the real divide is between those who choose to respect God's will, and those who will not.
I think Alan Keyes is exactly right. That's been the real divide throughout all of history, and will be throughout eternity.

I just saw the re-play of Beck, tonight. Bachmann not only calls on Americans to come to Washington, D.C., to the West steps of the Capitol (facing the monument) at 12:00 noon for what she calls a "Meet- Up," but she calls on Americans in all locales to go to their representative's local offices at that time ... or call ... or send emails. She emphasized the significance of citizens speaking face-to-face with members of congress, in influencing outcomes in the House.
In Washington, D.C., there will be speeches. Then citizens will go to the offices of legislators and attempt to record their intentions regarding healthcare reform. Citizens will make it clear to congress men and women that we do not want Nancy Peloi's healthcare reform. Legislator's responses will be recorded.
During the Bachmann interview, when the judge mentioned Pelosi's intention to inhibit access to the Capitol, Bachmann warned of the imprudence of excluding American citizens from "the people's house."
I'm not sure whether local events are to coincide with 12:00 noon ET ... or 12:00 noon local time. Either way, visit a legislator or his/er office tomorrow and let someone know how you feel about unconstitutional attempts on the part of the U.S. government to infringe upon your liberty by interfering with the doctor- patient contract, in the absence of due process. Tell them the American people do not want bureaucratic panels dictating medical options. Tell them you want the confidentiality of the doctor-patient privilege preserved. Tell them you do not want a government official dictating the terms of life and death medical decisions for you or your loved ones. Tell them to keep government's hands off your healthcare.

The House will likely vote on healthcare reform either Friday or Saturday. Rep. Bachmann emphasized this IS our last opportunity to make our will known, before the vote. Apparently, she feels some legislators may have FORGOTTEN how we feel about government controlled healthcare, since many of us met with our representatives, last August. (/sarcasm)

Nine protesters arrested at Lieberman's office

According to the U.S. Capitol Police, officers arrested nine protesters in Sen. Joe Lieberman’s office just after 10 a.m. today inside the Hart Senate Office Building.
“The demonstrators insisted on disrupting office operations after they rejected repeated offers for meetings with both the senator’s chief of staff and legislative director to discuss their concerns,” Marshall Wittmann, a Lieberman spokesman, said in a statement. “After rejecting these meeting offers, refusing to heed warnings from the Capitol Hill police and continuing the disruption, some of the demonstrators were removed by the police.”
In a statement, Capitol Police said the nine were arrested without incident and there have been no other arrests today.
Roll Call, the Capitol Hill newspaper, reports that the protesters were members of Code Pink, a liberal group, and that the protest was over health care. Lieberman, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, has said he opposes a public option in the health care bill and would join Republicans in a filibuster to prevent the bill from going to a floor vote.

It was a beautiful day. And folks came from far and wide. My calibrated eyeball pegged the crowd at 50,000.
I didn't get to shake hands with Bernie or Charlie of Florida, but I did spot AIP-endorsed candidate in Maryland Republican primary for US Senate in 2010 Jim Rutledge. Here's a picture of the two of us taken by one of his volunteers. Jim and I have talked and emailed for about a year now, and many of you have heard him on the national town hall style conference calls. It was a real treat to meet him in person.
I met a few other Marylanders and gave them a card. By the time I got home I already had an email from a fellow in Severn.
Even the subway ride into town from the end of the Red Line was uplifting today. A group of us, including the couple pictured below who drove down for the rally from Pennsylvania, had a town hall style meeting about health care right there on the Metro car. Also in the group was a pharmacist and his wife who drove from Ohio to attend the rally, and a pair of fellow Marylanders from a distant county
