Investors Business Daily November 4, 2009 staff Cold War: The White House has announced our absence at ceremonies marking the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Meanwhile, Russia has been practicing a nuclear invasion of an abandoned Poland. The Berlin Wall has been a famous backdrop for American presidents sounding the battle cry of liberty in the struggle against tyranny. It was there that John F. Kennedy expressed our solidarity with the encircled residents of that outpost of freedom with his famous "Ich bin ein Berliner." And it was there that Ronald Reagan, with a defiant "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall," voiced our determination not to merely contain or get along with Soviet Communism, but to defeat it. On Nov. 9, 1989, the people of Berlin did just that, secure in the knowledge that an economically and militarily revived America had their back. But that was then and this is now. Today, American leaders travel the world expressing their regrets for our alleged past transgressions, and American exceptionalism is no longer part of our vocabulary. We're just another one of the gang, sandwiched alphabetically between Uganda and Upper Volta, whose votes cancel ours in an international community to which we pledge our fealty.

I recently lost a dear friend who was, in his 20's, drafted by his Dutch queen to go reclaim Indonesia from its freedom-loving natives after WW2.
He hated her already for how her heel was always on his neck, but then she ordered him to hold Indonesians still so she could stomp on them too.
Dude flipped out and got himself court martialed in 1946 because he'd had enough already, what with living through Hitler's invasion of Holland, arrest by the Gestapo for fighting back (turned in by a neighbor), imprisonment and torture in Buchenwald until his escape and flight to France, tour of duty with the French resistance just before hooking up with some American pilots flying to England via Switzerland, only to return to France on D-Day via parachute with the 101st and move inland attached to Anthony McAuliffe's command as a translator, culminating in a really noisy Christmas Eve in Bastogne under German shellfire just after translating the infamous "Nuts" reply into German, which actually said, "Go to hell" in German. . . Whew!
It's not hard to see how he'd had enough of totalitarian nonsense, especially when the stinkin' queen, who had abandoned her recently disarmed subjects upon invasion in 1940, tried to convert him to her own little personal oppressor on the other side of the planet after the war.
This was a guy who grasped the heart of the meaning of the word FREEDOM. He was more American than anybody I ever knew who was actually born here.
Now my money is going toward stripping my heroes, the Polish, of their only hope for freedom while an alien posing as my president kisses up to the 21st century's up-and-coming Stalins and Hitlers in hopes of clinking champagne glasses with them over the ruins of the Reagan-Thatcher-Walesa victory of the 80's.
Can the word "brazen" be augmented at all?
Is there a superlative for "nauseating?"
I don't recall anything in Revelation about people wanting to stick their fingers down their throats when the Beast stood to speak.
Gag.

I'm pre-trib ... so I don't intend to be here for the tribulation. For those who remain, I believe a strong dillusion will exist to secure their allegance to the anti-Christ. Sadly, people will willingly comply, to their own eternal peril. It sounds like your friend was quite a warrior for freedom, Roundhead. I'm sorry for your loss. I think Alan Keyes has expressed some of the same revulsion at the thought of Barack Obama possibly violating the U.S. Constitution by withholding evidence of his eligibility for office, and yet residing in the White House, with all the trappings of the highest office in the land.

| | | Did anybody disinfect the Lincoln Bible with holy water after he put his hand on it and lied?
By the way, the thing that got me going on my friend Jack was that he was born on September 17th, Constitution Day.
Furthermore, he has a grandson who was born on July 4th, and who plans on running for president when of age.
Heck, if the 'Bamster can play "Prez" with the unspoken blessing of thousands of speechless onlookers, why can't a high school student who really was born here?

| | | LOL. No, I don't think anyone disinfected the Lincoln Bible.
Maybe Jack's grandson would be interested in joining AIP.
